Torfaen Triathlon Member Dafyd Jay who swims with Torfaen Dolphins Performance Squad has had a brilliant 2019 Season.
In April Dafyd qualified for the British Junior super series tier 1 competition 2019.
In May he won the Welsh Under 20s draft legal sprint triathlon for the 2nd year running.
June we saw him win the British under 20s draft legal sprint triathlon championship.
In August he travelled to Lausanne Switzerland to represent GB in World Championships under 20s grand final where he finished 17th However he was not happy with his finishing position as he believes the run element was way below par on the day.
As an athlete he’s learnt a lot about international competition in Lausanne which he’ll hopefully put into practice next year as he’s qualified for next years World Championship finals being held in Edmonton Canada where he will again compete in the under 20s.
All going well and Dafyd’s able to keeps improving his swimming who know where he could finish in next years.
We are very proud of Dafyd and have how far he has come and look forward to seeing what he can achieve next season!
